The comfort and luxury of a hot tub or Jacuzzi simply can’t be overstated, and they’re great health-wise as well. However, they do cost a lot of cash, but there is still a way to get almost everything they offer at a fraction of the cost and in a portable package.
Portable hot tubs are the solution, and today we will present you with one of the best. Today, we will give you our Intex 77in review!
What You Need to Know Before Buying an Inflatable Hot Tub
Before we can get to the review, though, we have to cover some of the basic things you need to look for in an inflatable hot tub.
The number of adults that can fit into a hot tub is usually referred to as the capacity of the hot tub and is listed somewhere on the product. Usually, it’s a fixed number, but sometimes it might be a rough estimate. Most of the time, though, they end up being a bit tight for the listed number of people, so always buy a size up.
The volume of a hot tub is the amount of water that can fit inside it. When buying you should always check the volume, usually expressed in gallons or liters, and calculate the weight so you’re sure that the spot where you intend to put it will be able to withstand it.
Most inflatable or portable hot tubs cost significantly less than in-built ones, but they can still be quite costly. This might tempt you into buying the cheapest one possible – however, that’s not always the right option. The cheapest ones might become unusable in months, and you shouldn’t be afraid to pay a bit more for a quality product.
4. Advanced Features
There are plenty of hot tubs with lots of luxury features, and portable hot tubs are not different in that regard. Some are undoubtedly a major improvement, like having a hard water treatment system included, while others, like various plastic or inflatable attachments, can be of questionable quality. Make sure to pick the right ones for you.
The Intex 77in PureSpa Inflatable Hot Tub Detailed Review
The Intex 77in PureSpa is an exceptional inflatable hot tub, comparable to other leading products, like the Coleman SaluSpa. This is a downsized version of another exceptional Intex product, the Intex 85in PureSpa and contains much of the same feature, but it is meant for 4 adults and can contain up to 210 gallons of water.
When you buy this product, you get not only the hot tub but also a 3-way test strip, floating chlorine dispenser, 2 filter cartridges, a carry bag, a thermal ground cloth, an inflation hose and an insulated cover.
If you want to get an affordable but durable hot tub for a smaller crowd, this is most likely the right product for you. Not as good if you want something extremely large, but that’s not what it’s made for.
The Most Important Features
While this product has a ton of great features, here are some that are better than most and deserve a more in-depth spotlight.
120 Powerful Bubble Jets
The core feature of the Intex 77in is the inclusion of 120 strong bubble jets which provide an incredibly relaxing experience. They will massage your sore muscles and help them reach a state of bliss. They aren’t too strong or too weak but are just right. Due to how many jets there are, almost every possible angle is covered, and no part of your body is neglected.
This construction technique ensures that the walls of this inflatable hot tub will be able to support much more weight than in other products. This makes the much safer and secure, while also having them remain comfortable and compact when deflated. This is achieved with the use of high-strength, lightweight fibers. This is also what makes the Intex 77in inflatable hot tub so durable.
Hard Water Treatment System
There is a multi-layered hard water treatment system built into this hot tub, making the water much cleaner and better for your skin. It also prevents the build-up of grime that usually occurs if the water is too hard, prolonging the lifespan of your hot tub.
Simple Digital Controls
The controls for the heating system are digital and incredibly easy to use. You only need to press a few buttons on the panel, and you’re done. They’re quite intuitive, and anyone can use them – no more need for complicated instructions and flipping through tons of manuals.
You can also set a timer that will automatically turn the hot tub on or off, thus allowing you to relax and stop worrying about the small details.
There are a ton of great extra material included in the purchase package, some of which are incredibly useful like the carry bag and the insulated inflatable cover. These things greatly increase the value of the product.
Other Products You Might Want to Check Out
1. MSPA Lite Alpine Square
This is quite a different product than the Intex 77in PureSpa, but it does have a few similarities – both are meant for 4 people, and both are easy to set up and use. However, there are a lot of evident differences, both good and bad.
This product has a built-in heater, better insulation, and square shape – which might be good for some and bad for others. However, it is also more expensive, contains fewer jets and doesn’t hold nearly as much water. It is a nice alternative, especially if you prefer square tubs, but it is more costly. If you want it, you can buy it here.
2. Coleman SaluSpa 4 Person Portable Inflatable
This is a roughly comparable product, featuring the same capacity and volume – 210 gallons. The diameter is 71 inches, compared to the 77 inches of the Intex product. However, that makes this tub deeper, something a lot of people value.
The most significant difference is that this product is less durable. The amount of active air jets is far smaller as well – it has only 60 of them.
If you can’t get the Intex product or you want a deeper tub, this is a decent alternative that you can get here. Otherwise, go for the Intex 77in PureSpa.
3. SaluSpa Hawaii HydroJet Pro Inflatable Hot Tub
The main upside of this product is the inclusion of hydro jets instead of air jets. Though there are less of them, they offer a better experience and don’t cool down the water. The hot tub also features much better insulation.
There are a few notable downsides. The size and the volume are smaller although it is advertised as a 4 to 6 person tub. The worst thing is the price – almost triple that of the Intex product.
If you want an alternative with hydro jets, this is the product for you, and you can get it here, but otherwise get the Intex hot tub.
Inflatable hot tubs are not as great as inbuilt ones, but they’re quite close and can be bought at a far more affordable price. The Intex 77in Pure Spa exemplifies this by offering great comfort and outstanding special features while not costing a whole lot.
